Little Lamb Consulting / Point of View
Ideas from
the Work.
Some ideas come from seeing what worked. Others come from watching a good process outlive its purpose. I write about both, because the difference matters when you are responsible for getting difficult work done.
2½ good reasons. 2 bad ones.
Why have a PMO at all?
A PMO should help an organization do work it cannot yet do well on its own. That can mean leading the unusual, making repeatable work easier, or providing shared capacity. It should not exist to preserve yesterday’s process or cover for decisions that others will not make.
From thinking to doing
The point is what changes in the work.
If you are questioning the purpose of a PMO or working through a complicated change, I would welcome a conversation about what your organization needs now.
